Sometimes the lessons can be boring, as can the study sessions, especially if you are used to studying with background music. Read on to find out how to listen to music in the classroom without attracting attention and avoiding being surprised by the teacher.
Steps
Step 1. Use a small music player
CDs are bulky and difficult to hide, while your smartphone or iPod are almost invisible.
Step 2. Purchase earphones that are similar in color to your hair
Black ones are not easily noticeable in dark hair, while white earbuds are perfect for light-haired people.
Step 3. Prepare in advance
Set the volume on the player and put on the earphones before entering the classroom. If you can hear the music 30 centimeters away from the earphones, the volume is too loud. Keep it low, you need to be able to hear the teacher in case he talks to you.
Step 4. Hide the earphones
Find a clever way to hide the wire and headphones.
- Thread the earbuds under the shirt or through the sleeves, making sure it comes out of the collar. Wear the earphones without being noticed by the teacher and hide them with your hair or hood.
- If you don't have long hair, flip the earbuds to run the wire behind your ears.
- Put the earbuds through the sleeve. Leave them on your sleeve, don't wear them, so you just need to bring the sleeve to your ear to hear the music.
-
Use a pair of wireless bluetooth headsets. If your player has bluetooth, you can use very small earphones that easily hide under your hair.
Step 5. Behave normally
If they ask you a question, pause the reader and answer as best you can.
Step 6. Sit at the back of the classroom, away from people who might notice you and make a scene
Step 7. Avoid singing out loud and dancing
This way you will be discovered immediately!
Step 8. If you are working on your laptop or computer and you have the option to use headphones, use a USB stick to listen to your favorite music directly from your PC
Advice
- Learn to recognize the player keys without looking at them. This way, you can use it without looking down all the time.
- The best time to listen to music is during a silent reading, exercise or other study session in which the teacher is not involved.
- Try to get a good reputation so that the teacher doesn't suspect anything.
- Do not use a player that makes sounds when the battery is low.
- Don't stand up if you still have headphones on your sleeves; they could slip and you would be discovered.
- There is a better chance of keeping the player well hidden if the lights are off.
- If you are outside for some kind of practice (e.g. with the school band), put on a cap, put the reader in your pocket and run the thread down your back so that it comes out at the hat.
- It's super easy to hide an iPod Shuffle. Just attach it to your belt or pocket; instead the iPod Nano can be worn like a watch.
Warnings
- If you get caught red-handed, they will likely confiscate the reader.
- Listening to music in class may cause you to get distracted and miss important information to take a test or finish homework. You might even get some bad marks!
