This article will teach you to play 500 with 3 other people (2 teams of 2) and a deck of cards.
Steps
Step 1. Find 3 other people to play with you
Form 2 teams of 2. Sit across from your partner.
Step 2. Prepare the cards
Remove the 2's and the 3. There must be only one joker.
Step 3. Deal the cards
Deal 3 cards to the person to the right of the holder, and then 3 cards to the others, until you go back to the dealer. Put 3 cards in the center of the table. Then repeat with 2 cards (2 cards in the middle - then no cards in the middle), then again with 3 cards and another time with 2. Each player should have 10 cards, with 5 cards on the table.
Step 4. Start by betting
It is slightly complex. In this game there are 4 card suits. Those of hearts are worth more, followed by diamonds, then clubs and finally spades. The person to the right of the dealer begins. An example of a bet is "7 spades" or "7 diamonds". It means that the player thinks he can win 7 hands (during the game, whoever puts down the most cards wins the "hand"). If the player does not have good enough cards, he "passes" (he can also "indicate", ie say he has a good hand in a given suit, to help his partner). The next player places their bet. This player must bet higher than the previous one (or fold; no one can "point" after the first "real" bet). For example, if the first player has bet "7 diamonds", the second player must bet "7 hearts" or "8 whatever". And so it continues around the table (if no one bets, the cards are shuffled). The points are taken (the 5 cards on the table). See the “Tips” section.
Step 5. The person with the points must then put 5 cards back down
They can be the same cards, but not necessarily.
- The person who just won plays a starting card. It is usually an ace (A) of a low suit (those that are not trump cards) or the joker or a very low card.
-
The person on the right is next. He must play a card of the same suit. If the player does not have one of the same suit he can play another (but this suit has no value, while you must follow the same suit to hope to win the hand).
Step 6. The game continues until 4 cards remain on the table
Step 7. Know that the winning card is (in this order, so if there is no A, you go to B and then C):
A) the joker, B) the highest trump card on the table, C) the highest card of the called suit. The person who played the trump card takes the trick and leads the next hand (see the “Tips” section).
Step 8. The game continues like this until the cards run out
Count the points of the person who won the bet (who was holding the deck) and his partner. If they exceed their bet (for example they total 8 points having called "7 diamonds") they win the amount bet (in this case, 7 diamonds). If they have not won, they lose the bet amount (see the “Tips” section).
Step 9. Continue until one team reaches 500 points (winning)
Advice
- No trump is when each card is taken for what it says. You usually only play it when you have the joker.
- When betting, remember that values under-determine power - the higher the power, the higher the stake. The highest bet wins.
- The suit bet last (the one chosen by the player who has the deck) is now called "trump". Trump is now the most valuable suit in the game. The other suits are all the same.
- Remember that it can also end in negative (score below 0).
- The order of the non-trump suit goes like this (in descending order): A, K, Q, J, 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4.
- The order of the trump goes like this (in descending order, and with the trump of diamonds): "bower" of diamonds (a bower is a jack of the trump suit and of the suit of the same color as the trump - so in this case also the Jack of hearts will be a bower. The trump jack is called "right bower", while the other will be "left bower"), joker, right bower, left bower, A, K, Q, 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4.
- The joker is the highest card. It defeats all other cards, of whatever suit they are.
- The person sitting in front of you is your partner. Play together. So if for example your partner wins the bet and tries to get points, any points earned by him are also yours.
