Some people believe that there are vortices of energy arranged along the body which are referred to as the "chakra". In total there are seven energy centers positioned along a vertical line that rises from the pelvis area to the head. Some are convinced that feelings such as anxiety, apathy and stress are due to a malfunction of the chakras, which therefore need to be treated. If you want to try to heal your energy centers, start with the root chakra; you will have to give it a lot of time and care as it affects the balance of the other six. Then you can heal the next chakras through practices such as meditation, music therapy, physical exercise and contact with nature.
Steps
Part 1 of 4: Starting with the Root Chakra
Step 1. Display the red color
Some people believe that it is able to strengthen the root chakra, so try to visualize the red color to start its healing process. Picture it in your mind as you meditate. Also if you happen to feel sluggish during the day, close your eyes and think about the color red. It could be used to heal the root chakra.
Step 2. Get more physical activity
Both dance and yoga can help you heal the root chakra. You can simply dance in the quiet of your room, as there are no special movements to heal the root chakra. If you prefer to practice yoga, you can find a teacher in your city or take an online course. Some postures, such as that of the tree or half lotus, are particularly beneficial for the root chakra.
You can also visualize the red color while dancing or practicing yoga. Doing so could speed up the root chakra healing process
Step 3. Take a walk
Being outdoors positively affects each of the seven energy centers, but especially the root chakra. Because it is located at the base of the spine, conscious walking can be very beneficial to your health. Focus on how you feel every time you step on or lift a foot off the ground. Work on identifying the sensations you feel in your lower body as you walk.
If you don't have time for long walks, try walking more while doing your normal daily activities. Perhaps you could walk to work or the supermarket instead of using the car or taking the bus
Step 4. Take care of your feet
Since the root chakra is associated with the lower body, taking care of the feet can help make them stronger. Pamper them often to increase the energy of the first chakra. You can get a pedicure or a nice massage. Plus, every time you shower, pay special attention to their cleanliness. You can also buy a special foot cream or moisturizing lotion.
Part 2 of 4: Healing the Middle Chakras
Step 1. Immerse yourself in water to heal the second chakra
Some people are convinced that the second energy center responds well to water. Since negative emotions, such as guilt and shame, affect this chakra, water can generate a feeling of purification that can be helpful in driving them away. Try immersing yourself in water to heal your second chakra.
- Go swimming in the sea, in a lake or in the pool.
- Take a long soak in the tub at home. Add some sea salt or baking soda for even more relief.
- To get the best benefits, you should stay in the water for at least twenty minutes.
Step 2. Heal the third chakra with sunlight
Exercising, especially in open spaces, can help heal the third chakra. Try to spend a lot of time outdoors while on the go; for example, you can walk, run or cycle on sunny days. It can be especially beneficial to be outdoors at sunrise or sunset.
Step 3. Seek physical contact with others for the sake of the fourth chakra
The fourth energy vortex is correlated with touch and can heal through physical contact. Try to be close to other people; work hard to achieve greater physical intimacy through gestures, for example by hugging or cuddling those you love. It will benefit the fourth chakra.
If you don't feel comfortable having physical contact with people, try to spend some time with a pet who likes to be pampered
Part 3 of 4: Healing the Higher Chakras
Step 1. Heal the fifth chakra with sounds
The fifth energy center can be healed through music therapy. The OM chanting technique, the repetition of mantras and chanting can improve the state of health. You can also listen to music to help them heal.
Step 2. Practice meditation to heal your sixth chakra
This energy center is closely related to dreams. Meditative techniques involving visualization can contribute to the healing of the sixth chakra. Choose a practice that leads you to close your eyes and imagine a relaxing scenario using all five senses to make it as vivid as possible.
If you have trouble visualizing, try listening to a guided meditation that involves your imagination
Step 3. Try a more intense meditation practice to heal the seventh chakra
Practicing daily clearing your mind and focusing attention on the present moment can help you heal the seventh and final energy center. Through meditation you will have to try to make the mind silent. This is far from easy, so consider finding a teacher or listening to guided meditations.
Meditating in a calm, distraction-free environment generally makes the practice more effective. You should wear comfortable clothes and sit in a position that you find comfortable
Part 4 of 4: Seeking Outside Help
Step 1. Get a massage
The chakras are associated with the physical body. Receiving a full body massage can aid in the healing process. As you work to heal one chakra at a time, you can try to speed up your recovery by getting some massages.
If possible, see a therapist who specializes in healing the chakras
Step 2. Purchase the chakra health stones
For each energy vortex there is a corresponding stone; you can buy chakra stones online or in stores that sell crystal therapy items. These are healing crystals that represent each of the chakras. If you want to speed up the healing process, try buying a full set of stones.
- The chakra stones are used by placing them on top of the corresponding chakras. For example, the one that coincides with the first energy vortex (that of the root) will be placed on the groin or on the feet.
- Some stones, such as clear quartz, can be used to heal different chakras.
Step 3. Talk to a professional
If it seems to you that the health of your chakras is not improving, ask for help from an energy practitioner (or therapist). You can find one by searching online or by going to a "new age" center. It can help you determine which chakras need treatment and formulate a healing plan.
