Whether you have side or straight bangs, styling it with the blow dryer is easy. Follow these steps to know how to get a perfect result.
Steps
Method 1 of 3: Prepare the Hair
Step 1. Wash your hair as usual
Always use lukewarm water: hot water can dry out the scalp and cause the color to fade. Shampoo should only be done every two or three days. After washing, you should always apply conditioner, especially if you do frequent styling and need to protect your hair even more from the heat and damage it causes.
Pat your hair dry with a towel. It is much easier to style your bangs after you have dried them slightly. It is best to avoid water dripping from your hair: try to dry it about 75% with the help of your fingers and a towel
Step 2. Apply a heat protection serum to your hair
You will only need a small amount: add a couple of drops or so. They should be enough to cover the entire hair. For the bangs, use an infinitesimal fraction. Applying too much product to your bangs (whether it's a volumizing serum or a styling spray) can weigh it down and make your hair visibly greasy.
Do you have curly hair? Apply an anti-frizz serum to prevent the heat from the hair dryer making them electric
Step 3. Detangle your hair with a wide-toothed comb to make sure all knots are removed
Wet hair is more fragile than ever. If you try to untangle the knots while drying, you risk damaging them and causing them to break.
Part the hair from the bangs using pliers
Method 2 of 3: Dry the Flat Bangs
Step 1. Hold the hair dryer above your head, with the nozzle pointed towards your face
Set it to a warm (but not very hot) temperature to avoid damaging your hair or skin.
Always dry your bangs first. Don't waste time applying body lotion, putting on makeup or drying the rest of your hair. Since the bangs are shorter and thinner than the rest of the hair, it will dry sooner. Once dry, it will set and it will be difficult to style it
Step 2. Brush the entire fringe to one side of the forehead using a flat brush
Tilt the hair dryer so that the jet of hot air is aimed at your hair. Don't dry them completely: instead, focus on drying the roots, so as to prevent the bangs from being ruined by unruly tufts.
Step 3. Brush the bangs in the opposite direction on the forehead
Make sure that the jet of air from the hairdryer always follows the movement of the brush. If you have a lot of hair, try dividing it into small sections to dry, gradually progressing along your forehead.
Continue brushing your hair back and forth across your forehead until the roots are dry
Step 4. Support the brush under the fringe, directly in contact with the roots, and blow dry the hair creating a straight line down
The bangs should feel completely dry after a few seconds.
Method 3 of 3: Dry and Volume the Bangs
Step 1. Hold a round brush under the bangs, directly at the root
Hold the hair dryer above your head, directing the hot air jet downwards, to dry the roots directly.
Do not bring the hair dryer too close to your hair: you risk burning your forehead and damaging your hair. Keep it at least two inches away from your hair
Step 2. Rotate the brush under the fringe to roll it over the surface of the bristles
Move the hair dryer vertically up and down, from the roots of the bangs to the ends. Focus mainly on the roots, as they take longer to dry than the tips.
Make sure that the jet of the hairdryer is always pointing downwards, away from the roots
Step 3. Drag the brush down and separate it from the hair
If you feel like your bangs are too puffy, brush it down while you blow it again.
