Want a fun and simple game for pajama parties or just sleeping with friends? You won't need to wait for the sun to go down to play the "Assassin", just find a room where you can turn off the lights, follow the rules of the game and have fun!
You can play with two or more people.
Steps
Part 1 of 3: Preparing the Card Game
Step 1. Remove the Jokers, Aces and Kings from a deck of cards
Then, put an Ace and a King back into the deck.
Step 2. Shuffle and deal all cards to each player
Depending on the number of people in the game, not everyone may receive the same number of cards. It's not a problem.
Step 3. Explain the meaning of each card
In the "Assassin", having a particular card means playing a specific role.
- The person who receives the Ace is the killer.
- Whoever receives the King is the policeman.
- Whoever receives the Jacks is the investigator.
- If the person who has the Jack "dies", whoever has the King becomes the investigator.
- If both players with Jack and King "die", whoever has the Queen becomes the investigator.
- Remember that everyone must keep their roles secret.
Part 2 of 3: Preparing the Paper Chip Game
Step 1. Make paper cards
Prepare cards for each person. Try to make them small enough so that it is difficult for someone who is not holding them to read.
Step 2. Write each role on a card
You will need to write a ticket for:
- "Assassin"
- "Investigator"
- On all other cards, write "Suspect".
Step 3. Put the cards in a container
Ask each player to take one. Remind everyone not to disclose their role.
Part 3 of 3: Play
Step 1. Find a room with plenty of space, free of sharp objects
You won't want to hit something when walking in the dark!
Step 2. Turn off the room lights
Tell the players to walk cautiously around the room and avoid getting close or clustering in one area.
Step 3. Allow the killer to find his victims
The killer will have to wander around the room and touch people on the shoulder to "kill" them.
- The killer can also whisper softly "You are dead" to the victim.
- Alternatively, the killer could place his hand over the person's mouth to stop them from screaming, and then whisper "you are dead".
- The "victims" can fall to the ground in a theatrical way or assume exaggerated agonizing poses. Try to be as theatrical and funny as possible.
Step 4. Scream "Assassin on the loose
when you meet a person who has been killed. As soon as this sentence is said, the player closest to the light should turn it on.
- If a player sees someone standing silently alone, he can ask him "Are you dead?". The player should simply answer yes or no, but they should be telling the truth so that "Assassin on the loose!" Can be screamed.
- The killer can try the trick of hiding the "body" of the person he just killed. If he successfully hides the people he "killed", it will take longer for other players to track down the victims.
- However, this tactic can make the killer more vulnerable to capture, because he will be distracted from having to deal with the "bodies".
- Vote to decide if the killer can use this tactic before starting the game.
Step 5. Gather all the living players in the room where the "victim" was found
All absent players should be considered dead.
As an additional variant, you can search for all hidden dead players and lead them into the room
Step 6. The investigator will have to try to figure out who the killer is
This phase of the game can be simple (an attempt to guess) or complex (an interrogation in which the investigator tries to reveal the identity of the killer).
- The role of the policeman is to enforce order when the investigator tries to solve the case.
- If you decide to stage an interrogation, the investigator will have to sit in front of everyone and ask questions to the live players, such as: "Where were you when someone yelled" Killer on the loose "? Who do you think the killer is and why?"
- When the investigator has gathered enough information and has decided who the suspect is, he will say "Final accusation" and ask the suspect, "Are you the killer?".
- If the investigator successfully locates the killer, he wins the game. If he is wrong, the killer wins.
- If the investigator is killed by the killer, he can be replaced by whoever had the King.
- If you are not using the playing cards and the investigator is killed, the game ends and you can start a new one.
Step 7. The killer must reveal himself at the end of the game
He can do this by showing the Ace.
Advice
- Don't hide together. This makes it impossible for the killer to kill anyone in the group and makes the game less exciting.
- Instead of giving one player the role of investigator, all players, including the killer and excluding the victims, can take part in a single spy game-style session. All the players say where they were and who they saw at the time of the assassination, so they name a few people, two at most, who they think might be the killer and all the players choose one. Whoever receives the most votes must reveal whether or not he is the killer. If not, you can continue with another round.
- If the investigator doesn't say "Final accusation" before asking if you are the killer, then you can lie.
- To kill people, you can also pretend to gently stab them in the chest without making a sound.
Warnings
- When the killer puts his hand over people's mouths and says "You're dead" he could scare the hell out of people, especially if you are immersed in darkness and the players don't notice him. Make sure all players agree.
- Wait at least 30 seconds before wandering around the house to get your eyes used to the dark. There is no need to collide with someone.
