Although many do not know what the consequences of a too rapid dilation of the holes in the ears may be, there is one that is rather scary: it is the tearing of the tissues. This occurs when the lobe is not yet ready to be further dilated but you want to force a larger plug or wedge to pass through. This causes a displacement of the skin dangling from the back of the hole, which not only damages the stretching process of the lobe, but also makes it impossible to put on any type of earring. But don't worry! This article will help you take care of your injured ear: remember that the main element is patience!
Steps
Step 1. Wash and sanitize your hands, earlobes and earrings
This way you avoid introducing germs into the wound and infecting the tear even more.
Step 2. Prepare a saline solution for the lobes
Simply put some sea salt in a tall cup (you have to cover the bottom, a spoon will be enough) and then add lukewarm water. Make sure the cup is deep enough to submerge the lobes. Do not use the same water for multiple washes. Rinse the cup every day and make a fresh solution.
Step 3. Use large quantities of oils
You can use vitamin E, castor, jojoba, emu, tea tree, coconut, or olive. Any type is fine! Choose one and apply it 3 times a day on the lobes and massage very well. It may be painful at first, but over time the wound will heal, if you are constant with this type of hydration.
Step 4. Keep your motivation high
Tell yourself that your lobes will heal!
Step 5. Every time you rinse and add oil, check your ears
Check the degree of redness and swelling. If after 3 days they have not faded, do not touch the lobes for a while. Ice packs can be helpful in these cases.
Step 6. Using smaller jewelry is optional, but if your earlobes are very sore you may have no other choice
Step 7. Wait until the wound has completely healed before attempting a new enlargement process
It will take about 3-4 weeks. Remember that a lot of oil and patience are essential! The next time you want to enlarge your ear holes, use a lubricant on the earrings and you won't have any difficulty!
Advice
- In the morning: put the oil.
- In the evening: rinse with saline and oil.
- In the afternoon: massage with oil.
- Make a plan for treating torn ears.
- Repeat the procedure until the tear has healed.
Warnings
- Do not try to widen the hole again if the tear has not healed, otherwise scar tissue will form which will lead to many problems.
- If your ears have not healed after 3-4 weeks, see a doctor, but don't be afraid. You may have a minor infection that a course of antibiotics will resolve.
