Do you own a komboloi but aren't sure you know how to use it correctly? You are in the right place, read the article and learn how to use it following the most common methods, derived from its traditional Greek origin.
Steps
Step 1. The Komboloi is the typical Greek prayer-counting rosary, often used also by lay people in the function of harp
Method 1 of 3: Quiet Method
Step 1. Start at one end of the wire or chain, next to the bead that acts as a shield
Step 2. Run the thread up, using the thumb and index finger side of the hand holding the komboloi
Step 3. Drop a bead so it hits the shield bead
Step 4. Repeat until all the beads have been moved from one end of the komboloi to the other
Step 5. Turn it over and start over
Method 2 of 3: Noise Method
Step 1. Divide the beads into two groups
At the lower end you will have the shield bead and a small number of other beads. The remaining beads will be on the other end of the komboloi.
Step 2. Place the empty section of thread between your index and middle fingers
Turn the palm of your hand towards you.
Step 3. Move the end on the back of your hand by swinging it back and forth
The two groups of beads must touch each other making a decisive noise.
