Draining a swimming pool can lead to unexpected problems. After removing the water, the pool will be like a giant ship in the ground which, depending on the condition of the latter, could begin to erode it and cause problems even to the foundations of neighboring houses. Here is a simple method to get rid of the weight of an unwanted pool.
Steps

Step 1. Drain the water
Do this when the soil is dry to avoid erosion. If the water contains chlorine or other harmful chemicals, drain it to a suitable place that will not be damaged by these substances.

Step 2. Use a jackhammer, hammer or other to drill holes in the bottom of the pool and allow the water to drain in the future

Step 3. Remove the external concrete floor, tiles and concrete around the pool and throw the material inside the pool over the holes you made

Step 4. Cover the old concrete with a layer of crushed rocks and then with a layer of sand or earth, if possible tamp everything down
Use a top layer of quality soil if you want to plant something.
