Middle Schools are a big step up from elementary school. Before, you had fewer teachers, and everything was simpler. Now you have a lot of subjects to follow, and a different teacher for each subject! You don't want to disappoint your parents with bad grades ?! Take home a lot of 8s, but always aim for 9! Here is an article that will help you! We must always, always, always aim for the maximum. Don't lower your expectations!
Steps
Step 1. Get organized
An aspect HUGE organization is to be taken into consideration in middle school. Get a ring binder notebook. It will help you keep everything in order, sorting things out by color and material. If you keep everything together instead of dividing by color you will have everything in disorder and you will not get great results! Also take a folder for each subject; plastic ones are better because they last all year round. Use them for homework and loose-leaf papers. Also get a notebook for each subject, where you can take notes and study for tests. When assigning you homework, research or any other job, always write the date, subject and the name of the teacher, in order to find everything more easily.
Step 2. Get a diary
Get a calendar, diary, or diary. This way you can write down all your assignments, test dates, research deadlines, and all important school dates, such as field trips, essays or holidays. I recommend USE IT every day! There is no reason to buy something that you will not use later.
Step 3. Take notes and study them
When you see a question or a test coming up, write it in your diary right away and start planning your study time. If you have 3 days before a test, study one hour a day until the test or question. It also helps a lot to write down problems and possible questions and their answers because they will stay with you.
It is also useful to form a study group to prepare together for the audit. You can even study with just one person
Step 4. Do your homework
One of the most important secrets to getting good grades is to finish and turn in your homework on time. Take all the time you need to finish your homework. Don't leave everything at the last minute as it will make you nervous and you won't be able to finish your homework well.
Step 5. Don't delay
If you put off too many things, you won't get good grades. Remember that homework comes first. They come before football, the choir or anything else. School must always have priority over everything.
Step 6. Sing a song
If you find a song that matches what you are studying, you will make it a lot more fun! But don't get too distracted!
Step 7. Always be aware of the dates of checks and queries
Study a lot for the subjects in which you do less well. The most difficult subject is usually mathematics because memory is not enough to get good grades. It's about old homework and exercises done in the classroom. Identify where you are wrong and do not make more mistakes!
Step 8. Ask questions
The professors are there to help you! And they love questions. If you have not understood something, you can also ask at the break and at the beginning or at the end of the lesson.
Step 9. Find out if you can do more to get better grades
Do this especially at the end of the term. Ask if you can do extra homework to grade, and maybe your grade will go up! Ask for this in time.
Step 10. If you have a substitute teacher, ask your teacher or a friend for help
They can always help you if they understand what the problem is.
Advice
- On the morning of the review or interrogation, have a good breakfast. It will help you stay focused.
- Believe it or not, doing your homework can bring you better grades!
- Always listen to the teacher in the classroom.
- One of the biggest causes for postponing school duties are electronic devices. Turn off these distractions or leave these equipment elsewhere while you study. If you need a computer to study, use WILLING TO avoid opening ANY KIND of window or program that is not relevant to what you are doing. You can also ask a friend or family member to check if you are just studying to help keep you from getting distracted.
- If you are unsure of a topic, ask the teacher at the end or during the lesson. It is very important to understand the notions to be acquired in class. You will never know if the professor will show up with a surprise assignment the next day.
- For the math tests, study the notes, memorize how to develop the concept that the teacher will ask you, and during the test write the demonstrations on a piece of paper. This is not copying, because you will have written the sheet AFTER the verification has started, and not BEFORE.
- Don't get caught chatting or arguing with friends. If something happens in your group of friends, try to talk about it and settle matters together - don't escalate fights by taking someone's side.
- Believe in yourself. TRY to be good at school. At the time of the report card, you will be surprised with the result.
- Don't let your private life distract you from school duties.
- Make things happier! Use notebooks, post-its, folders, ring binders and brightly colored backpack. Because that's a lot more fun.
- Be curious. Do singing, sports, art and all the activities that interest you.
- Don't take a huge ring binder, or it won't fit in your backpack.
Warnings
- Never respond badly to a teacher.
- Do not copy! In the long run it becomes counterproductive, because then there will be occasions in your school and university career where you will have to know a certain notion.
- Don't make others copy you.
- Don't take bad paper folders. They tear quickly, and teachers don't like them.
- Always get enough sleep before a test. If you get little sleep, you won't be able to think.
- Make sure you have everything you need to do your homework, don't leave anything at school. You can't go back and you won't be able to finish your homework.
- Don't fail in eighth grade, it's the most important year.
- In general, get enough sleep. Don't stay up at night.
- Don't be listless from sixth grade. Over the years you will become more and more listless!
- Don't be too worried. As important as your future is, you still have 5, 6, 7 years left in college. Don't fret - enjoy life, spend time with friends and family. You don't even have to sacrifice your academic achievements, rather find a balance between the two. Life goes by too fast, so remember to give your best now.
