Hitting fast and strong punches can be very helpful when fighting. Anyone can give good punches, regardless of gender or height. The trick is to accompany the fist with the body, while maintaining balance.
Steps
Step 1. Try to throw some quick punches
Get into your usual fighting stance (with one foot in front of the other or with feet side by side at shoulder-width apart) and try to deliver some quick punches.
Step 2. Try punching as you normally would
The best way is to rotate your torso as you punch, so that the power comes from your back and torso, not just your arm.
Step 3. Put one leg in front of the other and punch with the opposite arm - as you do this, follow the fist with the back leg, along with the torso
Step 4. Once you understand how to perform steps 1, 2 and 3, combine them
Step 5. Practice on a punching bag or semi-hard surface
You must wear gloves when practicing on a punching bag or on most surfaces, at least until your hands are strong enough.
Step 6. Lift weights every day - it will help you a lot in improving your punches
Advice
- Study anatomy so you know the best spots to punch.
