Are you obsessed with scratches on your stainless steel sink? They can be ugly to look at and risk giving a neglected look to the whole kitchen. In this article you will find the solution to the problem.
Steps
Method 1 of 2: Chrome steel cleaner
Step 1. Purchase some chrome steel cleaner
You can find it in the hardware store, but also in the cleaning products departments of supermarkets and department stores.
Step 2. Follow the instructions on the product label regarding the amount of product to use and how to apply
Distribute the cleaning product directly on the sink.
Step 3. If necessary, repeat the operation until the steel is perfectly polished
Step 4. Remove the cleaner with a cloth or sponge
Step 5. Finish the job with some elbow grease
Give the surface of the sink a good scrub and then rinse.
Step 6. Let it sit for 4-5 minutes
Step 7. Wipe everything off with a dry rag and admire your shiny, scratch-free sink
Method 2 of 2: Scouring pad or sandpaper
Step 1. If your sink is made of a particular type of chrome steel, you can use scouring pad or sandpaper to remove the scratches
Step 2. If the sink is satin chrome steel, try using a scouring pad or 80-120 grit sandpaper and wiping along the most superficial scratches to remove them
This method may not work with deep scratches and other types of stainless steel surfaces.
Advice
- You can contact the sink manufacturer for advice on the most suitable cleaning products. For some types of steel special products must be used. There is a wide range of stainless steel sink cleaners available on the market.
- Keep in mind that brushed steel has "scratches" made specifically to produce a certain effect. There is no need to try to change a style factor.
